Kopakson the 40th solution for infection. 40mg/ml syringe of 1 ml No. 12

Kopakson 40 is shown for treatment of recurrent forms of multiple sclerosis.

Kopakson 40 is not appointed at initially or the secondary progressing multiple sclerosis.

Structure

Active ingredient: glatiramer acetate;

1 ml of solution;

Excipients: a mannitol (E 421), water for injections.

Contraindication

Hypersensitivity to medicine components.

Route of administration

For adults the recommended dose makes 40 mg of a glatiramer of acetate (one previously filled syringe) entered subcutaneously 3 times a week. The break between injections has to make at least 48 hours. It is recommended to use medicament in the same days every week.

Decision on duration of treatment is made by the doctor individually for each case.

Feature of application

Pregnant

as a measure of restraint it is desirable for p to avoid use of medicine during pregnancy, except for cases when the advantage of application for mother exceeds risk of potential impact on a fruit.

Children

should not apply Kopakson the 40th this age category.

Overdose

It was reported about several cases of overdose by Kopakson (at application of 300 mg of a glatiramer of acetate).

Side effects

Reaction in the injection site that were most often observed at use of medicine of Kopakson-Tev in a dose of 20 mg/ml in comparison with placebo, were included by an erythema, pain, new growths, an itch, hypostasis, inflammation and hypersensitivity.

Interaction

observed the increased frequency of reactions in the injection site of the medicine Kopakson 40. It was reported about increase in frequency of local reactions at the patients receiving therapy by corticosteroids.

in original packing for protection against light at a temperature of 2 °C - 8 °C (in the fridge). Not to freeze.

If does not have

an opportunity to store the filled syringes in the fridge, then they can be stored at a temperature of 15 °C - 25 °C no more than 1 month.

If after this term in one month did not fill syringes with Kopakson solution 40 are used and are in original packing, then they need to be stored in the fridge at a temperature of 2 °C - 8 °C.

Expiration date - 2 years.
