Drotaverinum of the tab. of 40 mg No. 30

Drotaverinum a hydrochloride – the spasmolysant operating directly on unstriated muscles.

Indications

With the medical purpose at:

• spasms of smooth muscles connected with diseases of a biliary path: cholecystolithiasis, cholangiolithiasis, cholecystitis, pericholecystitis, cholangitis, papillitis;
• spasms of smooth muscles at diseases of an uric path: nephrolithiasis, ureterolithiasis, pyelitis, cystitis, bladder tenesmus.

As auxiliary treatment at:

• spasms of smooth muscles of a digestive tract: a peptic ulcer of a stomach and a duodenum, gastritis, kardio and/or a pylorospasm, enteritis, colitis, a spastic colitis with a constipation and a syndrome of the angry intestines which are followed by a meteorism;
• a headache of tension;
• gynecologic diseases (dysmenorrhea).

Structure

• active ingredient: drotaverine;
• 1 tablet contains Drotaverinum hydrochloride in terms of 100% dry matter of 40 mg;
• other components: microcrystalline cellulose; potato starch; calcium stearate; silicon dioxide colloidal waterless; lactose, monohydrate.

Contraindication

Hypersensitivity to Drotaverinum or any component of medicine. Heavy liver, renal or heart failure (syndrome of small warm emission).

Side reactions

from the immune system: allergic reactions, including a Quincke's disease, a small tortoiseshell, rash, the naggers, a dermahemia, fever, a fever, fervescence, weakness.

from a digestive tract: nausea, lock, vomiting.

from nervous system: headache, dizziness, insomnia.

from a cardiovascular system: cardiopalmus, arterial hypotension, feeling of heat.

Route of administration

Adult: the usual average dose makes 120-240 mg/days in 2-3 receptions.

Children: use of Drotaverinum to children in clinical trials was not studied; if use of Drotaverinum is necessary, then:

• to children of 6-12 years the maximum daily dose makes 80 mg (it is distributed on 2 receptions);
• to children of 12 years the maximum daily dose makes 160 mg (it is distributed on 2-4 receptions).

Duration of reception is defined by the doctor individually depending on the nature of a disease.

In arterial hypotension to apply

Feature of application

Drug contains lactose therefore patients should not appoint with rare hereditary forms of intolerance of a galactose, deficiency lactoses or a syndrome of glyukozo-galaktozny malabsorption.

Use during pregnancy or feeding by a breast

during pregnancy can only use medicament when the expected advantage for mother exceeds potential risk for a fruit.

due to the lack of these corresponding researches during feeding.

Efficiency and safety of use of medicine to children up to 6 years are not studied by

therefore patients of this age category are not recommended to appoint it.

Ability to influence speed of response at control of motor transport or other mechanisms

If at patients after use of medicine is observed by

dizziness, it is necessary to avoid potentially dangerous occupations, such as control of motor transport and performance of work requiring special attention.

Overdose

Symptoms: at considerable overdose of Drotaverinum, violations of a warm rhythm and conductivity, including a total block of a ventriculonector and cardiac arrest which can be lethal were observed.

At overdose the patient has to be under careful observation of the doctor and receive symptomatic treatment, including calling of vomiting and/or gastric lavage.

For simplification of atriventrikulyarny blockade to apply atropine and izoprenalin intravenously, to restoration of a heart rhythm – atropine or adrenaline intravenously with temporary cardiostimulation, at paralysis of a respiratory center the artificial ventilation of the lungs is carried out.

Interaction with other medicines and other types of interactions

phosphodiesterase Inhibitors, such as papaverine, reduce antiparkinsonichesky effect of a levodopa. It is necessary to use with care Drotaverinum medicament a hydrochloride along with a levodopa as the antiparkinsonichesky effect of the last decreases, and the rigidity and a tremor amplify.
