Pharmacological properties

Antispasmodic. on chemical structure and pharmacological properties it is close to a papaverine, but has more expressed and long action. reduces a tone of unstriated muscles of internals and physical activity of intestines, expands blood vessels. does not influence the autonomic nervous system, does not get through geb. it is quickly and completely soaked up in a GIT. it is evenly distributed in fabrics, gets into smooth muscle cells. it is allocated with kidneys.

Indication

At an abdominal pain which is caused by spasms of unstriated muscles of internals: a chronic gastroduodenit, a peptic ulcer of a stomach and duodenum, at cholelithic and an urolithiasis (gripes), chronic cholecystitis, a postcholecystectomy syndrome, hyper motor dyskinesia of biliary tract, spastic dyskinesia of intestines, intestinal colic owing to a delay of gases after operation, colitis, a proctitis, a meteorism, a pyelitis, at a headache owing to a brain angiospasm, at a spasm of coronary and peripheral arteries (obliterating endarteritis, a Raynaud's disease); in need of weakening of reductions of a uterus, for elimination of a spasm of a neck of the uterus at childbirth, at a spasm of unstriated muscles during tool interventions.

Use

Inside.

Adult are appointed on 1–2 tablets by 2–3 times a day. Duration of reception depends on a disease and is defined by the doctor.

Because there are no reliable data about use of medicine for children, Drotaverinum is used only according to purpose and under observation of the doctor, analyzing a ratio advantage/risk.

to Children at the age of 1 year-6 of years are appointed on ¹ / ₂ by tablets 1–2 times a day; 6–12 years — on 1 tablet 2–3 times a day, are more senior than 12 years — on 1–2 tablets 2–3 times a day. Children before application need to crush and mix a tablet with a small amount of water.

Contraindication

Profound liver, renal and heart failure; av-blockade of ii-iii of degree; cardiogenic shock; age till 1 year; the expressed hypotension; hypersensitivity to medicine components.

Drotaverinum enhances effect of other spasmolysants; further decrease is promoted by hell owing to use of tricyclic antidepressants, quinidine, a novokainamid. the effect of spasmolytic effect of Drotaverinum raises phenobarbital. reduces spasmolytic activity of morphine, antiparkinsonichesky properties of a levodopa.

At overdose are possible

: av-blockade, cardiac arrest, paralysis of a respiratory center. maintenance of function of vitals, performing symptomatic therapy is necessary.
