Pharmacological properties

are partially metilirovanny and hydroksipropilirovanny cellulose. normal the cornea has to be moistened mainly with mucin which is produced by a conjunctiva. mucin is adsorbed on a cornea and forms a hydrophilic surface. at a syndrome of a dry eye, especially at deficiency of mucin, use of artificial plaintive liquid is appointed.

for such application thanks to superficial activity and adsorptive ability. Owing to physical and chemical action of a gipromelloz in water solution reduces surface intention and also increases viscosity. Gipromelloza is well fixed on a cornea and a conjunctiva and provides normal moistening. The expressiveness of the symptoms of irritation caused by blinking because of deficiency of plaintive liquid thus decreases that prevents emergence of symptoms of drying of an epithelium.

Indication

For the symptomatic treatment of the phenomena of drying of a cornea and a mucous membrane of an eye (syndrome of a dry eye) caused by violation of plaintive secretion and slezovydelitelny function owing to local or general diseases and also in case of an insufficient or incomplete smykaniye a century. for wetting and additional moistening of firm contact lenses.

Use

Treatment of a syndrome of a dry eye demands individual dosing. if it is not appointed in a different way, then, depending on requirement, dig in in a conjunctival sac on 1 drop of 3-5 or more times a day.

Soft contact lenses needs to be removed before use of the medicine Artelak, to wait for 15 min., then to insert them again.

Artelak can also be used for repeated moistening of firm contact lenses.

At long use of the medicine Artelak should consult with the doctor.

Instruction for use of drops. To incline the head back, a forefinger of one hand to delay a lower eyelid of an eye down. Other hand, holding a small bottle with the doser over an eye vertically (without touching an eye), to drip 1 drop in the delayed conjunctival sac. To try to move an eyeball, without closing an eye that liquid well spread on it.

Contraindication

Hypersensitivity to any of medicine components.

Side effects

Hypersensitivity reaction. there can be a burning, reddening, feeling of a foreign body in an eye, a sight zatumanennost, dacryagogue, hypostasis, an itch, eye pain. artelak contains tsetrimid as preservative which can cause irritation of an eye, especially at frequent or long use, and can damage an eye cornea. thus, for long treatment of a chronic dry keratoconjunctivitis it is necessary to give preference to medicines without preservatives.

Special instructions

Before application should wash up hands carefully. when burying it is impossible to concern an eye or a century a dropper tip. immediately to close a bottle after use.

Use during pregnancy and feeding by a breast. There is no risk connected with medicine Artelak use during pregnancy and feeding by a breast as the gipromelloza is not soaked up and therefore has no systemic action.

Children. There are no data on use of medicine for children.

Ability to influence speed of response at control of vehicles and work with other mechanisms. Even at proper use medicine can cause short-term illegibility of sight because of formation of a strip under review therefore at control of vehicles or work with other mechanisms the patients should wait until the sight is restored.
