Pharmachologic effect:

Clindamycin phosphate, the active substance of the drug Dalacin, is not active in vitro, but rapid hydrolysis converts this substance into clindamycin, an antibiotic of the lincosamide group.

Clindamycin is active against all strains of Propioni-

bacterium acnes - the causative agent of acne (MIC - 0.4 μg / ml). The drug reduces the amount of free fatty acids on the skin surface (from 14% to 2%) and thus helps to clear acne.

The dosage form - gel - determines the cosmetological acceptability of the drug. The gel is well absorbed, leaves no shine, its application is combined with makeup.

Pharmacokinetics:

After repeated use of clindamycin phosphate at a concentration equivalent to 10 mg of clindamycin per 1 g of gel in the morning and evening, the degree of resorption into the systemic circulation is 1.6% and 2.5% of the morning and evening doses, respectively. The content of clindamycin in urine is 0.053% and 0.07% of the morning and evening doses, respectively.

It quickly and completely accumulates in comedones of patients with acne. The average concentration of the antibiotic in the contents of comedones after the application of clindamycin (10 mg / ml) in isopropyl alcohol and water for 4 weeks is 597 μg / g of the material of comedones, which significantly exceeds the MIC for the causative agent of acne

(concentration range 0-1490 μg / g).

Indications:

Treatment of acne vulgaris.

Dosing regimen:

A thin layer of gel is applied to clean and dry affected skin 2 times a day - in the morning and in the evening.

Side effect:

Local reactions: dry skin, erythema; burning sensation itching; peeling, increased oily skin.

From the gastrointestinal tract: rarely - abdominal pain, dyspeptic symptoms.

Contraindications:

- an indication of a history of colitis associated with the use of antibiotics;

- hypersensitivity to clindamycin or lincomycin.

Special instructions:

Avoid getting Dalacin on mucous membranes and in eyes. After applying the gel, wash your hands thoroughly.

With prolonged use of the drug and / or use on large areas of skin lesions, systemic resorption of clindamycin is possible. In this regard, if severe or prolonged diarrhea occurs during therapy with Dalacin, it is necessary to take into account the possibility of developing pseudomembranous colitis. In this case, do not prescribe drugs that regulate motility.

intestines, as this can prolong and / or worsen the course of this complication.

Use of the drug during pregnancy and lactation

possible only on strict indications.
